Ex-WWE star Bray Wyatt hacked on Twitter by ‘PlayStation 5 scammer’

Bray Wyatt looks to have regained control of his Twitter account after being hacked by scammer pretending to sell PlayStation 5 consoles.

The former WWE superstar, whose real name is Windham Rotunda, was the victim of an attacker on Sunday (December 5) who took over his account on the social media site and used it to try and sell Sony’s console – which has been notoriously difficult to get hold of – to unsuspecting fans.

Several times during the day, the posts read: ‘Fireflies I was able to receive an extra PS5 from a sponsor and I wanted to sell it to one of you guys for retail price ! I can ship anywhere in the USA ( DMS OPENED ).’

The tweets have all been removed from his page now, and things look to be back to normal.

Thankfully, there were plenty of people alert enough to warn other users against sending Windham a message at the moment.

The incident comes as the former world champion – who was released by WWE at the end of July – was due to start work on his first Hollywood feature film, as revealed by his long-time collaborator and friend Jason Baker.

Early in November, Callosum Studios owner and special makeup effects artist Jason exclusively told Metro.co.uk: ‘He’s a phenomenal collaborator, he’s become a really good friend, and we’re actually – you’re the first person that we’re publicly telling about [this]. We’re starting a film at the end of the month.’

Baker – who released horror short Welcome To Red Room last month – grew close with Windham through his work with WWE, which started with him designing Triple H’s crown for WrestleMania 30 and eventually led him to the Firefly Fun House.

He revealed the upcoming film, which is yet to be officially announced with the title and plot details being kept under wraps, was set to start filming by the end of last month.

‘Two weeks to go, we’re filming in Tennessee,’ he said. ‘It’s a feature film and it’s something really new and different. I’d say probably the best way to describe it is Ichi the Killer meets Xanadu.’

However, fans shouldn’t hold their breath for the return of The Fiend or Bray Wyatt just yet, as Jason explained Windham is taking things in a ‘completely different direction’ with the project.

‘We’re not using any of that – we’re going in a completely different direction, a whole new thing,’ he teased. ‘It should be fun. Hopefully fans of horror and fans of Windham like it!’
