Strictly fans beg BBC bosses to make major change to show to stop spoiler

STRICTLY Come Dancing fans have begged show bosses to make a major change to the show to stop spoilers from leaking online.

Viewers are not happy over continually finding out who landed in the bottom two and ultimately which celeb gets sent home every week thanks to online spoilers.

The results are pre-recorded after Saturday’s live show, and reveal which two acts landed in the bottom two – and who has gone home.

The pair of celebrities who wind up in the dance-off is decided when the public votes are added to the decisions the judges make on the Saturday show.

This does not air until the following evening, meaning that some viewers accidentally stumble across spoilers online due to leaks from the set.

The hosts and judges go off stage to change into different outfits while the votes are counted, to make it look like they are filming on a different day.

Throughout the shows which air on Sundays, everyone on camera refers to Saturday shows as ‘last night’ to give the impression they’re recording on a different night.

Fans have continuously begged BBC bosses for the results show to air on Saturdays, or be filmed live on Sundays to stop the elimination being ruined each week.

Previously, Strictly would reveal the public results live on the Saturday evening shows.

The leaks appear on the Strictly hashtag on Twitter and whose host sites are gaining popularity, meaning it’s harder to avoid spoilers online.

Fans slammed the growing influence of the Strictly spoiler websites and begged they don’t flood the hashtag or that other users retweet them.

“Please don’t retweet strictly spoilers. If you rt then u ruin it for ppl who don’t wanna see them. If ppl wanted to see them they would follow the account,” one angry fan wrote on Twitter.

Another added: “They really just need to get rid of Sunday night and do a longer live show on a Saturday……half the time some muppet on here will just spoil it all for everyone.”

Some fans noted that Strictly only introduced the Sunday night results show in direct competition to the now off-air, X-Factor.

“They only started doing Sundays to rival the X Factor who did it – so now that X Factor isn’t on anymore can they put the results back on Saturday again?! #Strictly”

Despite the protests from fans, Strictly bosses have no plans for the current system to change.

The Strictly Come Dancing results show starts on BBC1 tonight at 7.10pm.
