WATCH: Isaac Cruz Dominates Gervonta Davis at Weigh-Ins

Gervonta Davis and Isaac Cruz are now hours away from going head-to-head in a 12-round WBA title clash at 135 pounds. Both lightweights are now all set to go a step further in their pursuit of pugilistic greatness.

Ahead of their final clash on December 6, the two recently faced off at the final ceremonial weigh-in. While there has been no real tension between the two in the build-up of this fight, things recently took a turn for the worse at the weigh-in.

Gervonta Davis and Isaac Cruz had a very intense face-off. As they looked right at each other, ‘Tank’ decided to take things to the next level by inching close to Cruz, flexing, and then pushing him aside.

Despite Davis’ best efforts to seem like the bigger man by pushing his opponent, Isaac Cruz stayed still, did not break eye contact with him even for a split second.

Many saw Davis’ push at the weigh-in as a rather weak move. Even though he seemed irritated by the scuffle, Isaac Cruz had a grin on his face after his opponent pushed him.

In an interview after the event, Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz revealed that he sensed fear in his opponent’s approach – “he’s gonna lose, he’s afraid“.

Isaac Cruz is not underestimating Gervonta Davis at all

At a recent virtual conference, Mexican contender Isaac Cruz revealed that he is definitely confident but not overconfident. He is clearly aware of Gervonta Davis’ potential, but it’s just that he believes in his own strengths and will-power more. That is also one of the reasons why he sees this fight on December 5 being a treat for the fans.

This is going to be a great fight. I’m ready to shock the world and become the next star in the pantheon of Mexican boxing champions. I’m ready to put on a show. There were a wide array of feelings when I knew I got this fight, but most of all, it made me really motivated to be ready for this opportunity, said Cruz.

We are not overconfident in any way, but Gervonta has not fought anyone with my style and with my characteristics. We’re working really hard to make sure my style will work the best that it can. The real winner of this fight is going to be the fans. ‘Pitbull’ and ‘Tank’ are going to crash into each other and people will be on the edge of their seats.

It’s up to Gervonta to show that he’s a superstar in the ring. I don’t see him as an impossible task to defeat at all. I always want to fight the best and Gervonta is one of the best. I’m training really hard so that I’m up to that challenge,” he added.
