Who’s Next for Jose Aldo After His Win Against Rob Font?

Jose Aldo is undoubtedly a legend in the world of Mixed Martial Arts. Aldo has been a part of the UFC since the very start. In fact, he was the first-ever featherweight champion in the promotion. The Brazilian holds many records in his UFC career. He holds the record of the most successful title defenses in UFC featherweight history. Moreover, he was undefeated for twelve years during his featherweight reign.

Aldo once held an 18 fight win streak during his prime. At that time, Aldo was easily one of the best in the world. He spent his entire career in the featherweight division, and he absolutely dominated. However, he had a bit of a rough patch after his loss against Conor McGregor at UFC 194. He suffered five losses in his next eight fights after UFC 194.

However, Aldo bounced back pretty well and is currently on a three-fight winning streak. The Brazilian has been finding success in the bantamweight division and is slowly climbing up to the higher rankings in the promotion.

Aldo’s most recent bout was against Rob Font last weekend. ‘Junior’ gained everyone’s respect and delivered a spectacular performance. Jose won the bout following a unanimous decision.

After his dominant win over Font at UFC Vegas 44, fans are questioning who is next for the Brazilian in the bantamweight division. Many believe that T.J. Dillashaw could be next for the former featherweight legend. If Jose wins against Dillashaw, it is pretty much guaranteed he’ll get a shot at the title after it.

Another potential opponent for Jose could be Cory Sandhagen if his bout against T.J. Dillashaw doesn’t fall through. Sandhagen currently stands third in the division, just one rank below Dillashaw. A win against either of the two could get him a title shot against the winner of Yan vs Sterling.
