Eduardo Ramirez Secures a Unanimous Decision Victory Over Miguel Marriaga After 10 Grueling Rounds

In the opening fight of the Showtime pay-per-view telecast for the Gervonta Davis vs Isaac Cruz fight, Marriaga takes on Ramirez. The pair took each other on at the Staples Center on Sunday night. The pair fought for ten rounds in a featherweight clash. Eduardo Ramirez, who went into the fight with a three-fight, stoppage streak, promised to put on a show against Marriaga.

And boy the did the pair put on a show for the fight. The fight featured the classic quick feet, fast punching, and movement that comes with the featherweight division. Both fighters fought their hearts out, standing in the center of the ring and just swinging at each other. The fight got a lot of reactions from the crowd every time Ramirez or Marriaga stunned their opponent.

Ramirez started off the fight strong, putting pressure on Marriaga with high volumes of punches. Ramirez connected well on multiple occasions, stunning and knocking his opponent down. After ten rounds, the fight went to the judge’s scorecard. All three judges scored the fight 99-90 to declare the winner by way of unanimous decision, Eduardo Ramirez.

This fight pits Ramirez as the top contender in the division as he looks to get a title shot in 2022. Although Ramirez was unable to finish the fight, he did put on the pressure relentlessly at Marriaga. Ramirez poses a threat to any fighter in the division purely based on his boxing volume and pressure.
