James Harden has had quite a journey as a professional NBA player. He might not have gotten the success that he had hoped for while playing for the Houston Rockets. However, he has surely established himself as one of the best point guards in the league.

Like most teenagers, Harden wasn’t distracted by things like dating, something his mother shed light on. In an interview with her, she revealed what he once did when a girl showed an interest in the now Brooklyn Nets‘ superstar.

James Harden’s love for basketball dates back to his time in high school and continues to date. Ever since he entered the league as the sixth man for OKC, he quickly became one of the top scorers in the NBA. It’s his ability to find creative and unique ways to get the bucket in that even helped the Rockets become a contending team in the Western Conference.
Although he never really got the opportunity to lift the Larry O’Brien – that might be changing now that he is part of the Nets’ super team. However, his unwavering focus is something that will definitely be an asset to them. Hearing his extreme reaction to a girl flirting with him back in high school will surely crack anyone up.
In an episode of ESPN’s E:60 series, Harden’s mother appeared for an interview. During which, she narrated that her son never got into trouble and wasn’t even fond of dating. However, she also revealed, “He got in trouble one time in junior high, he threw a basketball at a girl..he wasn’t into dating, just wanted to play basketball. I think she was trying to flirt with him, so he threw the basketball at her.”

Of course, a lot has changed since back then. After becoming a professional, Harden decided to dip his toe in the dating pool. Not only has he dated many girls since then, but was even married once.
He definitely has come a long way personally and professionally. Now, the only thing left for him is to add at least one NBA championship to his name. Will the 2021-22 NBA campaign be the one for them?
