WWE superstar Rhea Ripley has opened up on the similarities between RK-Bro and her own tag team with Nikki A.S.H.
The Nightmare and the Almost a Superhero formed an unlikely partnership earlier this year, and it came in the midst of a similar odd couple storyline between Randy Orton and his goofy partner Riddle.
Reflecting on an unseen moment she actually referenced the situation on Raw, she exclusively told Metro.co.uk: ‘It’s funny, there was actually a moment where we had done our entrance and we were waiting in the ring and it went to a break so everything when black.
‘When we came back from break, RK-Bro’s promo was at that time and it was on the big screen. I was watching it with Nikki, and I was like, “Look it’s us!” I was pointing at it and I looked into the crowd like, “It’s the guy version of us!”
‘This guy in the crowd just burst out laughing. [laughs] I love it, I love it so much and I think they’re just incredible.’
Rhea wasn’t put off by the similarities, and she loves seeing the dynamic between the two tag teams as she described Nikki and Riddle as her and Randy’s ‘little siblings’.
‘They’re so funny, and Riddle is just so annoying to Randy and I love every minute of it, it’s exactly how Nikki is to me,’ she laughed. ‘They’re like our little siblings, you know? You can’t hate them! You just tolerate them.’
The Aussie star admitted her partnership with Nikki – with whom she held the Women’s Tag Team Titles before dropping the gold to Carmella and Queen Zelina last month – has helped her grow as a person and a performer.
‘I think it’s been a good learning curve for me, to not always just be angry at the world and to enjoy everything, and to show people that I can be this other person as well,’ she added.
‘I do have different sides to myself and my character – it’s not really a character, but to me. I think it’s been really intriguing to everyone. They’re slowly seeing me open up and blossom into the Rhea Ripley that you see, and it’s because of Nikki.’

Rhea – who has told us before how she questioned the tag team and initially thought the storyline was quite ‘random’ – noted how their real life friendship has blossomed in line with their partnership on screen.
‘It’s funny how life is, it really is. Everything that I have experienced over the last year has helped me grow to the Rhea that you see today. Like you say, the bond with Nikki,’ she pointed out.
‘Nikki and I, we didn’t really hang out beforehand, and now she’s one of my favourite people in the world. Like, I loved her before but now we are so close. We’re roommates, we’re travel buddies, [we were] tag champs. I love the girl, I think she’s absolutely hilarious – so it’s really nice to see where bonds form.’
WrestleMania 38 takes place Saturday April 2 and Sunday April 3 at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas. Travel packages are now on sale.
