‘You Are Stealing From the Fighters’: Floyd Mayweather Sends a Message to Illegal Tank-Cruz PPV Streamers
Floyd Mayweather has been a PPV star all his life and is now passing the torch to his pupil Gervonta Davis, who will defend his WBA lightweight belt against Isaac Cruz tonight. After becoming a PPV stakeholder, ‘Tank’ has come across big financial success and can envision seeing a similar feature in his next fight. However, a lot of it will depend on the pay-per-view revenue.
Gervonta Davis will receive a $1 million guaranteed payout from the fight, per reports. He will also bag 60% of the PPV share that can double up his total income. However, the numbers can change if we see a fall in the PP buys. Well, Mayweather has already sent a clear message to the illegal streamers, with an intent to raise the pay-per-view status for ‘Tank’.
‘TBE’ Mayweather posted Davis’ picture on his social media feed with the statement written, “People risk their life to entertain you and you are stealing the fight? You are willing to pay for designer things. But you are not willing to pay for the fight? When you steal the fight you are stealing from the fighters. A large portion of the fighter’s pay comes from pay-per-view purchases. To get the pay-per-view level, it takes a lot of work. Do what’s right. Support the fighters as you support your friends and family.”
As we stand close to the end of 2021, ‘Tank’ vs ‘Pitbull’ can craft the lightweight journey for 2022. Both the elite fighters are ready to put on their best versions at sight, paving the way for an intriguing collision. Here’s how you can watch it live.
