RB Leipzig 2 Man City 1: Walker sent off for petulant swipe as strong City side humbled in Germany despite Mahrez strike
TEN-MAN Manchester City lost 2-1 away at RB Leipzig as they lost their cool in the dead rubber.
Pep Guardiola’s side had already secured top spot in the group before the early kick-off in Germany.

And that allowed the City boss to rest some key players ahead of the hectic Christmas schedule.
But they were undone twice inside an empty Red Bull Arena – then Kyle Walker needlessly got himself sent off.
Dominik Szoboszlai opened the scoring with a cool finish on 25 minutes.
And Andre Silva blasted into the bottom corner to double the hosts’ advantage with 20 minutes to go as they confirmed Leipzig’s place in the Europa League.
Riyad Mahrez pulled one back with a cute header at the back post with quarter of an hour remaining.
That took his tally to nine goals in his last ten Champions League appearances.
But despite City’s huffing and puffing, they could not grab an equaliser – and instead lost Walker when he took a swipe from behind at Silva.
That rules the pacey right-back out of the last-16 first leg in February.
