The Chase star Mark Labbett lost an incredible 10st after deciding to prioritise his health after being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, and now he’s revealed the secret behind his incredible transformation.
After a nurse spotted he had skin on his legs which had problems healing, the quizmaster, 56, has been on a real fitness journey over the past year and has lost an astonishing 63kg.
However, he had a little help along the way, the star took time to thank his adorable Golden Retriever, Baloo – aka his own ‘personal trainer’ – for helping him maintain a regular exercise pattern.
During his appearance on ITV’s The Pet Show, he told hosts Dermot O’Leary and Joanna Page that his dog has been his motivation to keep fit.
He said: ‘My wife promised me that when we first got him she would take care of everything – feeding him, walking him and so on.
‘That lasted about two weeks before she decided “Actually Mark, look at your belly – you need the exercise!”
‘I was walking him around the fields, taking me places… I think he’s helped a lot, simply because I’m doing more activity.’
Fans were full of praise after Mark shared a picture on Twitter of him looking dapper for the ITV Palooza.
One wrote: ‘Any more weight loss and you will have to change your name! Amazing!’
Another tweeted: ‘Looking amazing so well done losing weight.’
Mark, who is known as The Beast on the hit game show, has been open about his weight-loss journey, taking him from a 5XL to XL.

When he visited the Loose Women panel in March, Mark credited dropping a staggering five trouser sizes to a low sugar and carb diet and ‘running after a hyperactive toddler’.
He said: ‘I’m not a drinker, but sugar has always been my downfall. A good friend of mine who had the gastric band said it won’t do any good for me as I get all my calories by sugar, and it’s too easy to digest.’
