“The Man Does Not Stop Coming Forward”-Conor McGregor’s Coach Reveals a Potential Name for the Return Fight

Conor McGregor has fought twice this year. This is the first time since 2016 that ‘The Notorious’ has competed more than once in the UFC octagon. Although the results did not go his way, McGregor is determined to make a comeback and avenge his losses.

In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, Conor McGregor’s long-time head coach John Kavanagh shared his thoughts on who he might like McGregor to face next. He said, “I’ll be honest, the Nate Diaz trilogy is very very tempting. It is a fight that gives me nightmares. The man does not stop coming forward, whether it is three rounds or five rounds, but it is an intriguing fight. So that one is definitely very interesting. But also, the Tony Ferguson one was talked about a lot. Tony still has I believe a lot to offer to the game, he is a very unorthodox striker, grappler. I think the build-up would be fun for the fans.”

Kavanagh continued, “But look, that division is killer. Dan Hooker is in there, Islam fight would be amazing for obvious reasons…. Look any of those names, I am just excited to see Conor back, healthy, training.”

Will Conor McGregor be able to get into the win column on his return?

In the interview, coach Kavanagh mentioned that Conor McGregor has been in the gym training. He went on to add that despite having all the money in the world, McGregor is still laser-focused on fighting and getting the belt back.

Conor McGregor is without a doubt, the biggest name in MMA. His return will be a huge PPV card for the UFC. There are a number of fights that make sense for McGregor. However, a fight that makes the most sense at the moment is a trilogy with Nate Diaz.

Not only will it be a fun fight for the fans, but it will also give McGregor a chance to get back into the win column for the first time since January 2020. Additionally, Diaz is on the last fight of his UFC contract. Also, if Dustin Poirier fails to win the title against Charles Oliveira this weekend, the fourth fight with Poirier is also a possibility.
