Olympic swimming star, Katie Ledecky, outclassed her opponents back in Tokyo, securing the swimming queen crown. To much surprise, only a few months later now, she is back in the pool.

Notably, even after clinching insane heights in Tokyo, Katie seems to want more, as she keeps bettering her own timing, outshining counterparts by great margins.

Katie Ledecky finishes the race 36 seconds before opponents

After her stellar outing at the mega-quadrennial games earlier this year, Ledecky shifted her base from Stanford to the University of Florida. Ledecky aimed to train with the US top male long-distance swimmers. Indeed, that has worked incredibly for her as she again clinched first place at the US Open 2021, on Saturday, in Greensboro, N.C.

In the 1500 m race, Katie capped a 36-second before her counterparts victory. While she secured the top spot on the podium, she waited for other swimmers to reach close to her, before finishing first.

Katie clocked the time of 15:45.32, the 19th-fastest time of her career. Remarkably, Katie Ledecky has the top 12 finish-times in history under her belt.

Throwback to Ledecky’s Olympics glories

Back in Tokyo, the women swimming icon marked herself as the dominator, securing many podium finishes; Ledecky secured the gold medal in the 1500m and 800m races. Notably, she also won silver in the women’s 4*200m and women’s 400m race.

Interestingly, Katie has been stunning the world with her magical moves since the 2012 London Olympics, where she made her debut. She was just 15-years-old when she brought home her first-ever Olympic medal from London.

Going back to the Olympics in 2016, 19-year-old Katie not only defended her title, but she also bagged five more medals. Astonishingly, four out of those five medals were gold.
