“We All Make Mistakes”- Jon Jones’s New Coach Explains the Reason behind Jon Jones’ Recent Move

Jon Jones has recently parted ways with his longtime team at Jackson Wink MMA. His former coach, Mike Winkeljohn, announced that they have banned the former UFC light heavyweight champion. They took these steps after Jones was charged for domestic violence involving his fiancee, Jessie Moses.

Also, Jones has been out of the octagon for almost two years now. He last fought Dominick Reyes in February 2020. After his suspension from his former gym, the-34-year-old is seen training at Fight Ready with UFC fighters like Henry Cejudo.

Recently, the head striking coach at Fight Ready, Eddie Cha, sat down with MMAfighting and revealed how the whole Jones joining process went down.

Cha talked about jones joining by saying “Everything that we decide is done as a team. It starts with our owner David Zowine. He calls each and every one of us and asks us if we want a certain individual here and we’ll say yes or no, and why, then go from there. For me, it was a no-brainer. I think that people make mistakes whether they make one, two, or three.”

He further stated, “Jon’s just under a microscope. Whenever he does anything wrong, it’s magnified. But if you know him as an individual, and I don’t know him as well as other people, but I’ve heard from other people doing my research”

Cha elaborated on his experience with Jones by saying, “I don’t think anyone agrees with the mistakes he’s made, but at the same time, we all make mistakes. I was super happy to work with him and judge him as an individual. Was saying let’s not judge him until we get to know him first, and I was super impressed as a human being and as an athlete.”
