‘We’ll Settle It in the Middle’-Kai Kara-France Wants Cody Garbrandt to Bring His Best Version

New Zealand’s City Kickboxing has produced some of the best mixed martial artists in the world. The middleweight champion Israel Adesanya and Dan Hooker are an example of their fighters. Another exciting prospect of the MMA club is the flyweight contender Kai Kara-France.

For his next fight, Kara-France will take on Cody Garbrandt in a flyweight bout at the upcoming UFC 269. Cody Garbrandt stands seventh in the bantamweight category, whereas Kai Kara-France stands sixth in the flyweight category. ‘Don’t Blink’ has a professional MMA record of 22 wins and 9 losses.

The New Zealander recently spoke to MMA Junkie ahead of his fight at UFC 269 against Garbrandt and discussed a variety of topics. In his interview, Kai Kara-France seemed extremely optimistic about the outcome of his upcoming fight.

“Both guys love to come forward. Both guys like to strike. We both have knockouts on our record, so we’ll settle it in the middle… I see it going one way and that’s with my hand raised,” said Kara-France.

“I see myself putting away Cody and then getting a title shot and early in 2022. You’ll see me fighting for the title and winning a rematch against Brandon Moreno,” he added.

Kai Kara-France predicts Brandon Moreno’s next bout

The UFC flyweight champion, Brandon Moreno, will take on Deiveson Figueiredo for a trilogy bout. The fight will take place at the upcoming event of UFC 270 next year. In the same interview, Kai Kara-France weighed in on what he thinks will happen at UFC 270.

He said, “I think he’s going to get past Figueiredo. You know, the third fight. I feel like it’s going to go similar to the second. I feel like Figueiredo’s camp with Cejudo isn’t going to make too much of a difference, you know. He’s going to always do what he does, and that’s just be aggressive and come forward. So I think Brandon is a bit too crafty and he’ll find a finish.”
