Nick Cannon’s former partner Alyssa Scott has shared rare footage of their baby boy Zen before his death.

The five-month-old, who was Nick’s seventh child, died on Sunday at just five months old after being diagnosed with a rare brain tumour three months prior.

After announcing the devastating news on his talk show on Tuesday, Zen’s mother Alyssa paid tribute to the little one by sharing photos of him happily wriggling around on a bed.

With Zen looking up at the camera, Alyssa tells him: ‘What do you say? You say “good morning daddy, I love you so much”.’

When the tot made a little noise, she replied: ‘Good job! He loves you too.’

Zen then gave Alyssa an adorable smile and coincidentally raised his hand when she told him to wave goodbye to Nick.

Nick, 41, made the heartbreaking announcement on Tuesday’s episode of the Nick Cannon Show, recalling the moment they discovered that their little one was battling Hydrocephalus.

Hydrocephalus is a build up of fluid in the brain, which can put pressure on the brain and damage it. Symptoms include headaches, nausea and blurred vision. If untreated, the condition can be fatal.

‘I always noticed he had a cough and so I wanted to check it out,’ he began.

‘He had this interesting breathing, and by the time he was two months old, I noticed he had a nice sized head, I call it a Cannon head.

‘We didn’t think anything about it, he had a normal Cannon head. But I really wanted to take him to the doctor to get the breathing and his sinus checked out. We thought it would be routine.’

However, doctors informed the family that Zen had fluid building up in his head, and that it was a malignant tumour.

Zen immediately underwent brain surgery but his condition worsened at Thanksgiving.

‘The tumour began to grow a lot faster, and we knew that time was…’ Nick continued, before pausing to gather himself.

Detailing their last days together, Nick thanked the doctors for all their help, and explained that he made sure the family had ‘the most quality time’.

‘This weekend I made an effort to spend the most quality time with Zen,’ he told the audience through tears. ‘We woke up on Sunday, we got a chance to go to the ocean.

‘I got a call on my way to the airport to head back to Zen.’

He shared that he held his son for the last time over the weekend, and returned to work soon after the tragedy as he needed to keep busy.

Nick and Alyssa welcomed Zen in June, around the same time he welcomed twins Zion and Zillionaire with Abby De La Rosa. He is also father to twins Moroccan and Monroe who he shares with ex-wife Mariah Carey, and son Sagon and daughter Powerful Queen with Brittany Bell.
