Naledi Willers, who starred on the Real Housewives of Johannesburg, has died at the age of 30 after suffering from breast cancer.

The news was confirmed on Instagram in a statement shared by former Big Brother Africa star Oneal Madumo, who was a close friend of hers.

Sharing a picture of the late reality star on the social media platform, he wrote: ‘The Willers & Friends are sad to announce the passing of their darling, daughter, friend and sister Naledi “Na-Legend” Willers on Tuesday 7th December 2021.’

The statement outlined that details about the funeral arrangements and service would be shared in due course.

‘We appreciate all the kind thoughts and prayers as we continue to struggle to process this tragic loss,’ the statement said.

Last year, Willers opened up about her breast cancer diagnosis on Instagram, writing: ‘If I look like I’ve just been through a war, it’s because I have. On 29 Nov. 2019 I was diagnosed with stage 2 triple negative breast cancer.

‘This was also the day I wrote the last exam of my law degree… while waiting for the call bearing my results.’

She continued, writing: ‘I choose to say: still healing. Still improving. Every day I draw another breath… still WINNING.

‘The world buckled down and braced for the impact of COVID-19 while each day I was terrified that an encounter with the virus while on chemotherapy could result in my death due to my compromised immune system.’

Willers thanked several loved ones for support, including Oneal ‘for being more than any label can ever encompass since we met twelve years ago… but my brother and best friend through it all’.
