The One Show’s Jermaine Jenas winces as he’s blasted by co-host for ‘spoiling’ new Matrix film

THE One Show’s Jermaine Jenas winced as he was blasted by his co-host for a major faux pas.

Tuesday’s edition of the BBC One show saw Jermaine and Lauren Laverne welcome The Matrix actress Carrie-Anne Moss to the show via video link.

The One Show’s Jermaine Jenas was blasted by co-star Lauren Laverne for revealing a Matrix ‘spoiler’

The pair were interviewing Matrix star Carrie-Anne Moss about the new film in the franchise

Carrie-Anne was on the programme to promote the latest film in the franchise, The Matrix Resurrections, where she reprises her role as Trinity.

However, Jermaine and Lauren bickered as the former footballer appeared to give away a major spoiler in his opening introduction.

He said: “Thank you for joining us Carrie-Anne, now you obviously played Trinity in The Matrix movies but a lot of fans are actually surprised to hear that you’re in the latest film because you did die at the end of the last one.”

Lauren replied: “Spoiler” to which Jermaine responded: “It was 18 years ago, it’s not a spoiler.”

But Lauren hit back: “It feels like yesterday.”

However Jermaine insisted: “It’s not, alright” before turning his attention swiftly back to Carrie-Anne to ask: “But were you surprised to get the call?”

Ever the professional, Carrie-Anne ignored the co-hosts’ bickering and said: “Oh yeah, I was completely shocked. I never saw it coming.

“I got a text from Lana Wachowski, the director of Resurrections and I literally… erm well [co-star] Keanu [Reeves] jokes that ‘he had to stand up and that I actually had to sit down’.”

She continued: “I was thrilled and I said ‘yes’ right away because of the opportunity to be with Keanu again and to be with Lana and to get to be Trinity again, and to yell ‘Neo’.

“I mean it’s the dream job, it’s been the greatest acting job of my life and it goes beyond the acting because I love all of the different themes of the movie and just the creative experience is just incredible. I’m so grateful.”

Jermaine mentioned how her character Trinity had died in the last film

The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One. The Matrix Resurrections is released in the UK on December 22.
