WWE legend Blackjack Lanza dead aged 86: Vince McMahon leads tributes to Hall of Famer

WWE legend ‘Blackjack’ Jack Lanza has died aged 86.
The Hall of Famer – who was inducted alongside tag team partner Blackjack Mulligan in 2006 – has been honoured by the wrestling world with AEW broadcaster Jim Ross revealing the news on Twitter on Wednesday.
He wrote: ‘Just heard from old, Winnipeg friend Bob Holliday that Jack Lanza has passed away at the age of 86. Jack was our lead agent during the Attitude Era. Helluva hand.’
WWE boss Vince McMahon has also paid tribute to Lanza as he hailed him as a ‘man’s man’ and praised his ‘loyalty and dedication’.
He tweeted: ‘Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Jack Lanza. He was a man’s man, respected and beloved by all. He worked for and loved WWE for many years. His loyalty and dedication will never be forgotten.’
Sean ‘X-Pac’ Waltman joined those paying their respects on twitter, and revealed he has ‘a lot of great memories’ from their time working together over the years.
‘I loved Jack Lanza,’ he said. ‘I’m so sad to learn he passed away. I have a lot of great memories of him to remenis on. #RIPJackLanza (sic)’
Meanwhile, the ‘Hardcore Legend’ Mick Foley added: ‘I’m very sorry to learn of Jack Lanza’s passing. I enjoyed working with him very much in @WWE’
And referee Jim Korderas wrote: ‘Very saddened to hear of the passing of a true legend, teacher and friend, “Blackjack’ Jack Lanza.
‘Spent many years under his learning tree while developing a great relationship. Thank you Jack and rest in power Good sir! (sic)’

Lanza made his debut in 1961, and retired from his in-ring career in 1985 before later joining WWE as a road agent.
Throughout his time in the business, he enjoyed runs in the AWA, Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling, WWA, WWE, the NWA and more.
With Blackacjk Mulligan, he captured the WWWF, WWA World and NWA American Tag Team Championships.
