James Harden Somehow Helps Houston Rockets Set Yet Another NBA Record

A key Brooklyn Nets player, James Harden is one of the more important players in the NBA. Fans often refer to him by his nickname, ‘The Beard’. The 32 year old forms a formidable trio alongside Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. He joined the Nets from the Houston Rockets and surprisingly helped them set a record despite playing an NBA game against them.

Harden and the Nets faced the Rockets recently. However, a disappointing night remained in store for them as Harden and his franchise helped the Rockets set a unique NBA record. The Rockets have now won seven straight games in a row directly after a 15-game losing streak.

ESPN posted about the same on Twitter where it received considerable attention as the Nets lost to the Rockets. The Rockets’ current record for the season is 8-16. The rare statistic makes them the first NBA team in history to have a 15-game losing streak and a 7-game win streak in the same season.

Harden played for the Rockets between 2012 to 2021. He enjoyed some of his best seasons at the Rockets. The NBA awarded him the ‘Most Valuable Player’ award in 2018 while he was with the Houston team. The nine-time NBA All-Star also received his first All-Star call-up in 2013.

He started his NBA career in 2009 as the third overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder traded him to the Rockets on October 27, 2012, after a disagreement over a contract extension. The Nets acquired Harden on January 14, 2021.

James Harden and the Nets face defeat against the Rockets

The Houston Rockets cruised past a dismal Brooklyn Nets at Toyota Center. The Nets rank first in the Eastern Conference with a 17-8 record for the season. James Harden played for the second time against the Rockets at Houston since his exit from the franchise in January. The Nets rested NBA’s leading scorer Kevin Durant for the game.

In Durant’s absence, Harden led the Nets scoring 25 points as Cameron Thomas scored 18 points. Eric Gordon scored 21 points for the Rockets while Garrison Mathews added 19 points. The Rockets face the Milwaukee Bucks next while the Nets visit the Atlanta Hawks in an away game.
