A new trailer for RuPaul’s Drag Race season 14 has dropped, revealing a first look at the gagworthy guest judges including Lizzo and Alicia Keys, as well as a jaw-dropping twist that’s set to make herstory.

Last week, the cast of the upcoming season in the US was revealed, featuring a line-up of talented queens, including the first ever cisgender heterosexual contestant in the franchise.

As anticipation heightens for the new episodes, another teaser has been launched revealing some of the looks that the queens are going to be wearing when they make their entrances into the Werk Room for the first time.

But that’s not all, as sneak peeks of the guest judges have been unveiled, as well as some juicy details on the game-changing surprise that’s going to send the competitors into a frenzy.

In the trailer, Lizzo enters the Werk Room in spectacular fashion, donning a sparkling silver outfit as the queens scream at her arrival.

Alicia is also set to dazzle on the judging panel, as she tells one queen that she reminds them of her ‘favourite Pokémon character’.

This season is going to be jampacked with special guest stars, with Oscar nominee Taraji P Henson arriving on the scene, as well as Andra Day, Dove Cameron, Ava Max and TS Madison.

At one point in the teaser, the queens are presented with a table laid out with mysterious RuPaul chocolate bars.

Head judge Ru explains that the candy bars aren’t just sweet treats, as one bar could have the power to save a contestant from being sent home.

The cast reacts with shock at the big reveal, with one dubbing it a ‘full wildcard situation’.

‘It is severe up in here!’ another says, as Ru teases that the show is ‘finger-licking good’.

Earlier this week, season 14 star Maddy Morphosis responded to backlash over being the first cisgender straight man to participate in the competition.

In a statement posted on Instagram, the performer said: ‘I’m just a drag queen who happens to be straight.’

‘I’m not here to show the world that “straight guys can do drag.” For anyone saying that I’m representing an underrepresented group, I appreciate you, but straight men are not a persecuted and excluded group within the drag community.’

RuPaul’s Drag Race season 14 is set to premiere on WOW Presents Plus in the UK on January 8 2022, with new episodes released on Saturdays from 4am GMT.
