Scottie Pippen: “Michael Jordan Was 1-9 in the Playoffs Before I Joined the Team.In the Postseason He Missed, the Bulls Went 6-4.”

‘Unguarded’, Scottie Pippen’s memoir has been in the news for several wrong reasons. The book contains controversial statements and accusations by Scottie Pippen, especially against former teammate Michael Jordan in his book. Scottie Pippen accused Jordan of not being a team player in interviews and also in his memoir.

He writes about how he deserved more respect than what he is being given and also believes the limelight should not entirely be on Jordan.

Scottie Pippen talks about Michael Jordan:

The book contains some exclusive information about the legendary Chicago Bulls, their games, and the players. Pippen talks about how Jordan could not achieve what he wanted if it wasn’t for him. Jordan never won a championship before Pippen arrived in the Chicago Bulls.

The Last Dance documentary, in which Jordan was the center of attraction, has annoyed Pippen. He feels others deserve the credit and people need to stop the over glorification of Michael Jordan.

“Each episode was the same: Michael on a pedestal, his teammates secondary, smaller, the message no different from when he referred to us back then as his ‘supporting cast’.” Pippen writes in his book.

Pippen coming out with these statements has caused a stir in the sporting world with both support and criticism coming in for Pippen. Jordan was not the only one criticized; Dennis Rodman and Isiah Thomas also had their fair share of criticism.

Pippen and Jordan in playoffs:

Despite the controversies and their poor relationship, Pippen and Jordan caused havoc. This offensive-defensive duo helped create one of the best teams in NBA history.

Jordan is the Bulls’ all-time leader in games, minutes, field goals, free throws, rebounds, assists, points, triple-doubles, points per game, player efficiency rating, and win shares. Pippen heels him in the second place.

To Pippen’s credit, Michael Jordan had never won a playoff before he arrived, which is the reason why he has been demanding equal praise. Pippen’s arrival to the team created the all-stars Chicago Bulls which went to win 6 NBA championships.

Pippen and Jordan’s records in the playoffs are amazing. The duo never failed to get out of the first round of the playoffs and never lost in the finals. The two icons have played in 691 games together out of which they have won 514 games.
