Stephen Curry Once Revealed He Was Refused Beer by a Store: “I Didn’t Look Like I Was Over 21”

Stephen Curry is considered to be one of the best point guards of all time.  Currently a part of the Golden State Warriors, he also has some of the best shooting statistics in the league. The NBA player has broken many records in the court as well as off it in terms of endorsements and businesses.

Despite being one of the most famous players in the world, you might sometimes need an ID at markets or shops.

Curry shared a story with Dime Magazine about ordering a beer with his wife at California Pizza Kitchen, where he was asked for his identification.

Having no ID led to Stephen Curry being denied beer

Curry was asked during an interview as to why he carries an ID with him all the time despite his fame.

The superstar recalled a particular anecdote when he had visited a restaurant with his wife after the season. After ordering a beer, he realized that he had left his ID back in the car. At this moment, Curry hoped that the waitress would recognize him.

However, the waitress denied him the beer owing to the fact that Curry looks unusually youthful despite his age.

After that, Curry asked the waitress if the manager was around, and thankfully, he recognized the athlete. He continued:

“But she basically, yeah, she wouldn’t give me the benefit of the doubt, knowing that I didn’t look like I was over 21 and not knowing who I was.”

Curry also took the time to explain that maybe the waitress did not watch basketball and that is why she did not recognize him.

However, they agreed that the waitress was adhering to her duties and not giving any alcohol to underage children. Luckily, the manager was there.
