WATCH: When Floyd Mayweather Broke His Hand Mid-Fight

Floyd Mayweather rolled out many iconic in-ring performances to allure millions of boxing lovers. In his prolonged career, Mayweather tested himself against the best of opponents and showed some prolific punching power, accuracy, and more. However, he suffered some hand injuries too while landing punches on his opponents.

Once, Mayweather was about to lose a fight after seriously injuring his left hand in a fight he took in 2001. Recently, a video surfaced on the internet regarding this fight, and the injury ‘Pretty Boy’ succumbed to mid-fight.

Mayweather was in a scuffle with Carlos Hernandez for the WBC super-featherweight title. In this fight, ‘TBE’ injured himself by landing a fairly powerful left hook on his adversary.

The boxing great didn’t take a knee, nor did he get floored. Unfortunately, the referee termed it as a knockdown. Later, Mayweather showed his hands to his corner and after much thoughts, he continued the fight.

Many felt ‘TBE’ wouldn’t be able to make it to the final round as his injury seemed too serious. But, taking it into his stride, Mayweather moved on to continue the fight. He had maximum momentum and control for the first half of the fight.

Floyd Mayweather – A lionheart boxer?

Any other boxer would have thought about giving up after sustaining a hand injury in a fight. However, Mayweather did not think about giving up by any means.
