Gogglebox: All the must-see star throwbacks, from Jenny and Lee to Giles and Mary

We love all these throwback snaps! (Picture: Channel 4/Instagram)

Gogglebox fans have seen the cast change and grow over the years, but here are some of the best snaps from our favourite sofa critics before they ever ended up reviewing TV for a living.

The Channel 4 show has been entertaining the country for nearly 10 years.

But it’s hard to forget the nation’s professional TV watchers had a whole life before appearing on Gogglebox.

In recent weeks and months, several of the cast have shared some wonderful throwback pictures – much to the delight of fans.

We’ve collated all our favourite ones in the same place, so you can get a glimpse at the past lives of all the Gogglebox-ers.

Giles and Mary

Fans swooned over a young Giles and Mary (Picture: Instagram)

Fans couldn’t believe this adorable throwback from power couple Giles Wood and Mary Killen, who posted this snap just before the latest series started back in September.

The snippet of the couple as young adults from the 90s shows them sat side by side holding hands in the photo taken outdoors.

Mary can be seen sporting a long fringe, with the couple looking relaxed as Giles clutches a glass of wine.

They met when they were both 21 years old when Giles was studying at Wimbledon Art School and Mary was working as a model.

Jenny and Lee

We already knew Jenny Newby and Lee Riley had been pals for years, and even spent some of the lockdown together in order to continue filming for the show.

The duo have posted several past pics but this one shows them posing for a professional shot in 2004, with both of them looking very different from today.

Lee pretended the snap was from the pair’s wedding, joking: ‘Old photo 16 years ago of me and Jenny on a cruise taking the p**s.

‘No before you ask we didn’t get married.’

Sophie and Pete

How cute are Pete and Sophie! (Picture: Instagram)

Sophie and Pete Sandiford always make viewers laugh with their sibling jokes and hilarious remarks on the week’s programmes.

Pete’s still got his cheeky grin, with Sophie staring into the distance as they appear to be out for a family dinner in the photo.

In recent months, Pete has not only got married but also welcomed his first child, a baby son named Jimmy.

Fans have seen the Gogglebox star bring his baby onto the show, which has been met with very sweet reactions from viewers.

Ellie and Izzi

Izzi Warner posted a very sweet childhood photo with her sister Ellie to celebrate the latter’s birthday earlier this year.

Writing on her Instagram story, Izzi added the cheeky caption: ‘Happy birthday sis! I know you’ll have the best day because you’re spending it with me.’

The sisters from Leeds have been staples of the programme since they first appeared on it in 2015.

Stephen and Daniel

Stephen Webb has been on the show since it began back in 2013, originally with Chris Butland-Steed.

But the former partners fell out and he now appears on the programme with his husband Daniel Lustig from Brighton, with the pair owning a salon together.

More: Channel 4

The Gogglebox favourite posted a cute photo earlier this year from when the pair first met eight years ago.

The star wrote: ‘8 years ago today I met this loon! Changed my life! Love you boo @lustig75.’

Gogglebox airs on Fridays 9pm on Channel 4.
