I’m A Celebrity 2021: Matty Lee endures nightmare bathtime as he splashes around for stars

Matty Lee is the latest star to take on a trial on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, and it looks like even his rubber duck won’t provide that much comfort as the Olympian sits in a grim bath of offal and slime.

In a first-look video clip ahead of tonight’s episode, Matty is seen undertaking the Lethal Latrines challenge, and doing his best to stay upbeat and positive during his digusting bathtime.

As the 23-year-old settles into his gruesome, thick, red-coloured bath water, presenters Ant and Dec let him know the rules of the trial, with Ant explaining: ‘You have to stay in until we say “Bathtime is over!”‘

As the taps then turn on and gush out more foul bathwater, Matty exclaims: ‘Wooah!’

As he groans, whoops and gags while the goo keeps filling up the tub, Ant and Dec joke about broken plumbing, rusty pipes and how ‘the bogs are blocked up’, and Ant reminds Matty: ‘Stay in there! Stay in there. In there with you is offal and slime.’

Matty then starts to worry about the tub overflowing before he is suprised with a torrent of brown water and gunk pouring onto his head from above.

He is then prompted to look around for a star, which he struggles to find, before taking another direct hit of the water.

During last night’s episode, David Ginola and Danny Miller bossed the Drawbridge Over Troubled Water challenge and the French footballer, along with soap star Adam Woodyatt, finally received their longed-for letters from home, which were hidden in the branches of the castle’s Christmas tree.

Elsewhere, former BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin became the fifth star eliminated from the show, following music producer Naughty Boy, who was voted out on Wednesday evening, radio presenter Snoochie Shy, Paralympian Kadeena Cox and former Strictly Come Dancing judge Dame Arlene Phillips.

More: I’m A Celebrity

Describing the show as ‘life changing’, Louise added: ‘I’ve learned so much about myself, I’ve learned how to deal with difficult situations.’

Just six celebrities remain in the castle now, including Matty, Adam, David, Danny, Frankie Bridge and Coronation Street star Simon Gregson.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
