Tom Holland is one man keen on concealing a whole hoard of secrets, from his identity as Spider-Man to some room-clearing farts.
But please spare a thought for the actor, who reprises his role as Spidey/Peter Parker in the upcoming No Way Home next week, and his human senses off the back of this rather toe-curling on-set story.
Joining the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on Friday morning, a week out from the release of the latest Marvel epic, Tom was met with questions from listeners who wanted the goss.
When asked what the most embarrassing thing the star had ever done on set, Tom had a doozy.
He explained without skipping a beat: ‘In Spiderman No Way Home there is a sequence where I save MJ and Ned and I can them and have to like swing down, it’s halfway through the film, and as we landed Jacob was in front of me and Zendaya was behind me and as I sort of squatted I let one rip and Zendaya was like right behind me.
‘The lucky thing is that in the suit, the suit is so tight that no one could smell anything.
That suit is TIGHT (Picture: J Whilden/Columbia/Marvel/Kobal/REX/Shutterstock)
‘Unfortunately, because the suit is so tight I could smell everything for the rest of the day… it was one of those ones where I couldn’t even pretend it was a seam ripping, it was very obvious.’
Zoe was in giggles as she said: ‘Even Spider-Man pops off.’
Tom and Zendaya – who plays MJ in the franchise – return for the latest epic, which has the world in a tizz (and punching up outside cinemas, too).
The upcoming film will see Toms Peter Parker/Spider-Man deal with the fallout of Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) publicly announcing his identity at the end of the second chapter.

No longer able to mask up, he asks for help from Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) – but things only get more dangerous from then on out.
Jamie Foxx, who played Electro from Andrew’s tenure, will also return; Benedict Cumberbatch will appear as Marvel’s Doctor Strange, and the iconic Green Goblin will also appear, rumoured though unconfirmed to be played by Willem Dafoe.
However, while the Spider-Man series is known as the most light-hearted of the Marvel universe, Tom has recently warned that this won’t be the case this time around.
In a recent interview, the actor admitted this particular film is ‘dark’ and ‘sad.’
He added ‘people will be really surprised’ but ‘it’s not fun, this film’.

‘You’re going to see characters that you love go through things that you would never wish for them to go through. And I was just really excited to kind of lean into that side of Peter Parker.’
Spider-Man: No Way Home is in cinemas December 17.
