Tottenham may not play again until December 19 with fixture chaos ahead after Covid-19 outbreak rips through club

TOTTENHAM may not play again until December 19 as a Covid outbreak at the club wreaks havoc with their fixtures.

The North Londoners have already had games against Rennes and Brighton postponed and there remains uncertainty about what will happen beyond the next nine days.

Spurs were supposed to play Rennes at home in the Europa Conference League on Thursday but that got canned.

And Sunday’s trip to the Seagulls was also called off.

Tottenham’s next match is away at Leicester next Thursday 16 December.

But doubts remain whether that fixture will be fulfilled either.

Stars are required to isolate for 10 days after a positive test or from when they started displaying symptoms.

Some of the eight first-teamers who have so far tested positive could be available to play… just.

But most of them will still be confined to isolation.

There are also some youth players who returned positive tests this week, according to the Athletic.

Some of boss Antonio Conte’s staff have tested positive as well which is said to have raised questions about the sporting integrity of the Foxes clash.

Brendan Rodgers’ side also had a Covid outbreak of their own meaning preparation for both teams has been affected.

If they don’t feel able to fulfill the fixture, Spurs can launch an appeal to the Prem for a postponement – the same process that was followed for the Brighton match.

Many within the club reportedly already reckon the Leicester match will be scrapped.

If the game at the King Power also gets pulled, that would mean Tottenham would not play until Liverpool visit on December 19.

The Lilywhites then have a home Carabao Cup quarter-final clash against bitter rivals West Ham just three days later.
