Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly took the opportunity to celebrate their House of Commons shoutout on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! after the scorching dig they made at Boris Johnson.
Earlier this week, the presenting duo made a not-so-subtle swipe at the Tory leader hours after footage was released of the politician’s former press secretary Allegra Stratton answering questions about an alleged party at Downing Street in December 2020 during a mock press conference.
The pair referenced Mr Johnson, with Dec quipping that he was the Prime Minister ‘for now’.
Then, while addressing MPs, Sir Keir Starmer said it was ‘obvious what happened’ following the leak of the video, before adding: ‘Ant and Dec are ahead of the Prime Minister on this. The Prime Minister has been caught red-handed.’
In response to the footage and reports, a Downing Street spokesperson said: ‘There was no Christmas party. Covid rules have been followed at all times.’
On Saturday’s edition of I’m A Celebrity, on which David Ginola became the latest celebrity to be voted out of the castle, Ant and Dec opened the show by bringing up the House of Commons mention.

‘As some of you may know, this show was mentioned in the House of Commons this Wednesday,’ Dec said.
Ant continued, saying: ‘Yes, ever since then, we’ve become increasingly aware of our political and social responsibilities, and we take those responsibilities extremely seriously.’
Dec then interjected again, before making a light-hearted segue into tonight’s show.

‘Hear, hear Ant! We certainly do. And we start tonight, with some farting,’ before scenes were shown of the final four stars farting in their beds in camp.
Ant and Dec have received high praise in recent days for their digs made at the Prime Minister’s expense, with the pair ridiculing the ‘dishevelled’ politician and Dec delivering a hilarious impression of him delivering a haphazard speech.
During the controversial mock press conference, Ed Oldfield, special adviser to the PM, asked Ms Stratton: ‘I’ve just seen reports on Twitter that there was a Downing Street Christmas party on Friday night, do you recognise those reports?’

She replied that she ‘went home’, before discussing with her colleagues whether it could be described as a ‘cheese and wine’ evening.
‘This fictional party was a business meeting … and it was not socially distanced,’ she added, chuckling.
The I’m A Celebrity final airs tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV.
