‘We Did It’: Rob Labritz Overwhelmed With Emotions After Securing 2022 Champions Tour Card
Professional golfing doesn’t come easy to any. Notably, while a selected few go on to become legends, some work for years just to earn a spot on the tour. This month, Rob Laritz achieved his dream, qualifying for the PGA TOUR Champions next year.
Understandably, the whole event was emotional for the 50-year-old, who was visibly overwhelmed on securing his card for 2022.
The Champions Tour shared a video focusing on Laritz, who even called his wife to share the exciting news.
Rob Labritz can’t contain his excitement over his 2022 Champions Tour Card
The smile on Labritz’s face was as bright as it could be, as he called his wife to share the news. While we could only hear Labrtiz’s side of the conversation, it was clear that the two of them had been waiting on this moment for a long time now.
“We did it,” says an emotional Labritz, tearing up, as his wife responded with the same emotion. He foolishly adds that pulled a muscle in his rib, only to reveal soon after that he was ‘kidding’ and his wife had nothing to worry about. “I’m good, I’m good, I’m just – We did it, we did it. All the sacrifice, we did it,” he further said.

Expressing how much he appreciated her support throughout his years of struggle, he then said, “With all the support and the man upstairs helped too. I’m enjoying this for a while, I’ll call you back, I’ve got a lot to do. I love you, I might be…I’m beyond words right now baby.”
How long has Labritz been playing?
Over the years, Labritz has played with many players, including those on the Champions Tour and amateurs. Everyone told him to keep going and wait for his chance. Now at 50, he finally earned his reward.
Fans, too, were happy for him, accepting that he deserved the chance.
Congratulations Rob Labritz! Quite an accomplishment! Thanks for sharing this video. The emotion displayed shows just how difficult and satisfying it was to finally earn your card. Best of luck as you continue to chase your dreams sir! I look forward to watching you on tour!
