WWE and AEW legend Chris Jericho has cancelled another Fozzy gig due to ‘circumstances beyond [the band’s] control’.

The wrestling icon – who has worked for All Elite Wrestling since its inception in 2019 – has been touring the UK with his group but they have axed a second gig planned for tonight in Nottingham, which comes after he was hospitalised earlier this week.

In a statement on the band’s Twitter account – which was shared by the Rescue Rooms venue – they said: ‘We are very sorry, but due to circumstances beyond our control, Fozzy will not be able to perform in Nottingham tomorrow (Dec 11).

‘We promise to return as soon as possible!’

No further details have been given at this time, while there is no update on tomorrow night’s show at London’s O2 Academy Islington.

In a statement to the Wrestling Observer after the initial report, Jericho has said: ‘I’m feeling good. They just wanted to observe me overnight and I’m in the right place. Not COVID related.’

The cancelled show comes as the band has announced their next album Boombox will be released in April 2022, as Jericho said in a statement: ‘Judas, both the album and the song, was a huge breakthrough for Fozzy.

‘It took us to the next level and positioned us as legit players at rock radio and as a live draw. As a result, we knew that we had to follow up with the album of a lifetime… Boombox is that album!’

Meanwhile, Fozzy had already axed a planned show at Swansea’s Sin City as the venue posted a statement saying Jericho had been hospitalised with a ‘non Covid related, treatable health issue’.

In a statement on the venue’s Facebook page on Thursday night, they said: ‘Tonight we were devastated to learn that Fozzy will have to cancel their planned date with us in Swansea tomorrow.’

They included a statement from the band, which read: ‘Chris was checked into Hospital by doctors, with a non Covid related, treatable health issue. Regrettably the show on Friday in Swansea is cancelled and all tickets will be refunded.

‘Will have updates on Saturdays show in Nottingham and Sunday’s show in London as soon as possible.’

Sin City has apologised for the ‘unavoidable shortness of the notice we can bring you’, as they wished Jericho ‘an incredibly speedy recovery’.

Several fans have replied to the announcement and revealed they have already received refunds, while the band had already played shows in Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow, Dublin, Belfast, Chester, Birmingham and Bournemouth.
