Elon Musk insists split from Grimes is ‘long-term’ as he speaks out over break-up

Elon Musk has opened up about his split from Grimes, insisting that it is a ‘long-term thing’.
The Tesla CEO, who has been named TIME Magazine’s 2021 Person of the Year, shares son X Æ A-Xii with the singer, 33.
They ‘semi’ called time on their relationship earlier this year, after three years of dating.
Speaking about their romance in a candid interview with TIME, the 50-year-old admitted that it was unlikely the pair will be reuniting as a full-time couple.
‘Grimes and I are, I’d say, probably semi-separated. We weren’t seeing each other that much, and I think this is to some degree a long-term thing, because what she needs to do is mostly in LA or touring, and my work is mostly in remote locations like this,’ he said, speaking of his Space X headquarters in Texas.
The former couple started dating in 2018 and welcomed their first child together last year, raising eyebrows with the little one’s unique name.
They decided to go their separate ways in September of this year, with the businessman confirming the split to Page Six.
However, Elon isn’t planning to move on from the musician – real name Claire Boucher – just yet.
‘This place is basically like a technology monastery, you know. There are some women here, but not many. And it’s remote,’ he told the publication.
His interview comes after Grimes dropped a new song, which appeared to reference the end of their romance.

In Player Of Games, she also may have made some thinly-veiled digs at her ex, while not mentioning him by name.
Although she didn’t quite reference him in the bop, she sang of Jupiter’s moon, of which Elon’s SpaceX won the contract to launch Nasa’s mission to explore …
She could be heard singing: ’Baby would you still love me / Out on Europa / Or would you forget?’
At one point, she belted out: ‘I’m in love / With the greatest gamer / But he’ll always love the game / More than he loves me.

Elon was previously married to author Justine Wilson, who he has twins Griffin and Xavier, and triplets Damian, Saxon and Kai, with.
The couple – who divorced in 2008 – also welcomed son Nevada Alexander in 2002, who died of sudden infant death syndrome (Sids) at 10 weeks old.
He was also married to Talulah Riley in 2010 before they got divorced in 2012. They decided to reunite soon after and walked back down the aisle for the second time 2013.
They eventually called it quits for a final time in 2016.
