Last night he was crowned King of the Castle and he’s had no contact with home for three weeks, but this morning Lorraine surprised Danny Miller and reunited him with his fiancé and son.

As the Emmerdale actor called in to discuss his big win on I’m A Celebrity, the talkshow host made him all emotional when partner Steph and seven-week-old Albert joined the call.

Danny instantly became tearful, as he caught his first glimpse of his little family in three weeks live on TV.

The soap star couldn’t hide his joy as he covered his face and exclaimed, ‘Oh darling!’ when Steph appeared on screen.

‘We’ve missed you so much, Danny! We just want you to come home now,’ said the 30-year-old midwife, who also got choked up.

The couple repeatedly exchanged ‘I love you’s and said they can’t wait to see one another later, before Danny joked that Lorraine must feel awkward being ‘sandwiched between’ them.

Steph went on to hold their baby up to the camera, and Danny was at a loss for words as he cried: ‘Oh look at him!’

Danny made no secret of his reasons for taking part in the reality show, saying he wanted the money to provide for his son.

Steph then gushed over her partner and why she thought he would win, praising the wonderful person he is.

Steph said she ‘knew’ Danny would be victorious the moment he entered the camp, and watched the live final with friends and family, wearing ‘King of the Castle’ t-shirts.

Danny – who said he felt slightly tipsy still after celebrating last night – will surely shed more tears later today when he can wrap his arms around his wife-to-be, and even joked with Lorraine about their upcoming wedding.

The soap star asked Lorraine if she wanted to come, to which she offered to babysit.

Danny clarified that he wanted her at the ceremony to ‘boost the OK! Magazine deal up.’

He beat Coronation Street icon Simon Gregson as I’m A Celeb winner last night, with The Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge finishing in third place.

As Ant and Dec announced he was the champion, Danny was handed the winner’s sceptre and a floral crown.

In disbelief, he said: ‘I mean honestly, from the bottom of my heart and my family’s heart – thank you so much, this is just the best thing that’s ever happened to me, bar my son,’ he exclaimed.’

‘So yeah, I can’t believe it, I’m shocked.’

The actor added: ‘I never thought I’d be in this position, I barely thought I’d make it through the first two or three votes or so.’

He went on to say he feels ‘proud’ of himself, and hopes his family are too.

Judging by his fiancé’s beaming smile on TV this morning, she is more than proud.

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9:00 on ITV.
