Simon Gregson was finally reunited with his children after finishing second on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! last night.

The Coronation Street star, who plays Steve McDonald on the ITV soap, narrowly missed out on being crowned King of the Castle with Emmerdale’s Danny Miller winning this year’s series

After flying back home following weeks spent in the Welsh castle, Simon got to hug his children for the first time during an emotional reunion.

In a video captured by the actor’s wife Emma Gleave, the soap star is seen coming through the living room door as his spouse exclaims: ‘Here he is!’

His sons then excitedly run up to Simon as he scoops one up in his arms laughing and telling them: ‘Oh my God boys, I’ve missed you so much!’

Simon and Emma, who tied the knot in 2010, share three children together: Alfie, 14, Harry, 12, and five-year-old Henry.

He was a late entry to the castle alongside EastEnders actor Adam Woodyatt, but managed to surpass his fellow contestants to make it to the final alongside Danny and Frankie Bridge.

In the final episode, Simon, 47, won applause from viewers when he chomped down on a cow’s vagina in the last eating trial.

After finishing runner-up, the actor told presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly that he was leaving with greater self-confidence.

He explained: ‘I knew before I came in that I needed to be in a certain state of mind not to be ‘blah blah blah’ and I think I achieved that.’

Corrie fans will be pleased to know that Simon will return to screens as Steve following his stint on I’m A Celeb.

As soaps film so far in advance, Steve is currently appearing on the soap so it’ll be a few weeks until the character leaves the show for a temporary break.

It is unknown what Simon’s exit storyline will be.
