Jake Paul Believes He Can Do “Some Real Damage” to Canelo Alvarez

Jake Paul hasn’t taken away his eyes of the P4P king Canelo Alvarez and is optimistic about facing the undisputed super-middleweight champion somewhere down the line. Pau’s current boxing status doesn’t allow him to challenge Alvarez, who is arguably at the top of the chain system now. However, ‘The Problem Child’ believes he will be capable enough to battle Alvarez in the next three years.

Having secured an active 4-0 record, Jake Paul will re-match former UFC champion Tyron Woodley on December 18 in Miami. He is yet to test his skills against a professional boxer. But the social media celeb-turned-fighter is confident about taking on Canelo Alvarez in the future already.

In a brief interaction with JOE, Jake Paul addressed several scenarios surrounding his boxing career. Relying on his skill set and upcoming plans, he also sent a stern warning to Canelo Alvarez.

Paul said, “I think the level that I will be at will be undeniable. My skill level will be at a place where I can make that a serious, a serious fight you know. I am not just gonna go in there and rollover. I know it’s gonna be hard, I know he [Canelo] is the pound-for-pound number one.”

He added, “I know he is moving up to cruiserweight. So he is playing right into this s*** already. I think I can do some real damage to him even more so than some of the guys he previously fought.”

Jake Paul vs Canelo Alvarez is still not a valid fight

Canelo Alvarez is pretty active with title fights and doesn’t need a Jake Paul bout in his resume. He is spinning enough money and is also enriching his legacy. That said, Jake Paul also has a tough test in Tyron Woodley. After he closes the –‘T-Wood’ chapter for once and for all, he can look into the other possible matchups.

Tyron Woodley came close to knocking out Woodley in their original fight in August. Although Paul revived, he was battered for a brief period until he plated a few in his favor to claim a win via decision. After fourth months, they are back to trading shots against each other. Even though Paul has fair chances of upsetting Woodley, a mega-fight against Alvarez will still demand a lot more from him to get the probable match into a reality ahead.
