Leaked photo of new Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphone spotted on internet WEEKS ahead of launch

A SUSPECTED new image of the Samsung Galaxy S22 was leaked this week, showing off a sleek and glossy design.

The image of the coveted smartphone was shared by the reputable leaker account, UniverseIce, on Weibo, which is a popular Chinese social network.

The photo, which has since been re-shared by several tech blogs and outlets, displayed a hand that is holding a black phone with the Samsung logo at the bottom.

The Weibo account also added some text under the leaked image saying that they suspect it’s the real thing.

If this is indeed the new Samsung phablet, then one of the most prominent ways it differs from the Galaxy S21 is that it features a glossy finish, as opposed to a more matte-like finish.

Beyond that difference, the phone’s back looks quite similar to its predecessor, as it, too, possesses a triple-lens camera in a block on the top left corner,

The image was leaked at around the same time that Samsung shared a new entry and model number (“SM-S908U”) on their website.

This new listing, which stood next to a blank photo, suggests that the South Korean tech giant is close to releasing the new smartphone lineup.

Another popular leak page, Snoopy, who was the first to spot the listing, alleges that production of the new phone is currently underway as Samsung has been shipping thousands of material every day.

The speculation surrounding production has been in line with previous rumors that predicted Samsung would begin sourcing parts for the phone towards the end of October and that production would begin from the first week of December.

The new phone range is expected to feature the same three models we’ve seen in the past: The Standard, Plus, and Ultra.

However, another persistent rumor hovering around the launch is insisting that the S22 Ultra will instead be named the S22 Note.

It has been nearly a year since the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S21, thus analysts are predicting the S22 will drop around February 2022.
