Strictly Come Dancing’s Katya Jones has revealed she is still ‘most proud’ of the Matrix-themed Paso Doble she danced with comedian Seann Walsh in the 2018 series.
Looking back on her past partners during a CV segment on Monday’s episode of It Takes Two, the Russian pro reflected on her six years on Strictly – which includes winning the coveted Glitter Ball trophy with Holby City actor Joe McFadden in 2017 – but it was still that atmospheric Paso that stood out to her.
In the feature, the 32-year-old explained: ‘In 2018 I was paired up with comedian Seann Walsh and this is when [the] Matrix routine came to life.’
As it cut to judge Craig Revel Horwood praising the dance as ‘masculine, and I might even go as far as to say ‘hot’, she added: ‘This is the routine I’m most proud of.’
However, Seann and Katya were eliminated during Halloween Week, with Katya saying: ‘Unfortunately it was our time to go.’
During their time as a partnership on the show, Seann and Katya were enveloped in scandal when video footage and pictures emerged of them sharing a kiss after leaving the pub one evening in October 2018.

At the time, Seann had a girlfriend of five years, Rebecca Humphries, and Katya was married to fellow Strictly pro Neil Jones.
Their elimination from the competition followed a few weeks later.
While Katya and Neil initially stayed together after the kiss scandal, 10 months later they confirmed that they had split after seven years of marriage.
Meanwhile, Seann, 35, was famously dumped by Rebecca after the pictures emerged, with the actress ‘taking the cat’ and later accusing Seann of gaslighting her through their relationship.
Seann has previously made light of the scandal during his stand-up comedy sets, but admitted recently that it changed his life forever.
Katya has also danced with former Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer Ed Balls, whose Gangnam Style dance with Katya went viral and whom Katya now describes as her ‘father figure in the UK’.

Alongside Ed, Joe and Seann, Katya has also danced with TV presenter Mike Bushell and formed the show’s first same-sex partnership with boxer Nicola Adams, with the couple forced to withdraw from the show early when Katya tested positive for Covid-19.
In the current series, she danced with Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty and was eliminated in week seven.
Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two airs weeknights at 6:30pm on BBC Two.
