Strictly’s Craig Revel Horwood slammed by ex pro James Jordan for ‘undermarking’ Rose Ayling-Ellis

STRICTLY Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has been slammed for “undermarking” Rose Ayling-Ellis.

On Saturday night the EastEnders actress was nearly awarded a full house of 10s for her Waltz – but was let down by Craig.

Former pros Ola and James Jordan admitted they were completely “baffled” by his decision as they questioned his judging.

Writing in their column for Hello, James said: “It was probably the best Waltz we have ever seen on Strictly. I do not understand where Craig was coming from with that 9.

“Rose may have had a tiny slip up with her footwork, but there are tiny imperfections in every routine – even ones that Craig has given tens for in the past.”

Furious Ola added: “It was unfair to give her a 9 when she delivered such a flawless performance. It was the dance of the night.

“She was totally in tune with Giovanni, it was beautiful.  There is definitely something special about their bond – it’s a great partnership that works really, really well.”

Rose and Giovanni’s first dance of the night was a waltz to How Long Will I Love You by pop star Ellie Goulding.

She received the highest score for that dance of the season – despite Craig’s score.

Anton Du Beke became emotional as he gave the couple feedback and said: “You’re amazing”.

While Craig added it was “one of the most amazing waltzes I have seen”.

They later got a perfect score for their Argentine tango to A Evaristo Carriego by Eduardo Rovira, which judge Craig said belonged in the final.

The pair ended up top joint of the leaderboard with AJ Odudu and her partner Kai Widdrington.

John Whaite and Johannes Radebe, Strictly’s first all-male pairing, placed third after scoring two 39s, one for their emotional couple’s choice routine to Adele’s Hometown Glory and the other for their energetic jive to Higher Power by Coldplay.

CBBC host Rhys Stephenson and pro partner Nancy Xu came fourth after they received a score of 36 for their tango to Queen’s One Vision and 38 for their samba to It Had Better Be Tonight (Meglio Stasera), sung by Michael Buble.

They ended up losing their place in the competition.
