Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham treated fans with the best news and confirmed season 3 of the show will begin filming this Valentine’s Day, and we’re counting down the days.

The 47-year-old actress appeared on James Corden’s The Late Late Show on Friday and revealed that filming for the Apple TV Plus series will begin very soon.

The feel-good comedy stars Jason Sudeikis as the vibrant optimist Ted Lasso, who coaches the AFC Richmond football team to glory, despite the players giving coach Lasso a frosty welcome at the beginning.

Wanting the full update on the new season, Corden asked the Sex Education star if she could tease any upcoming storylines.

‘We start on Valentine’s Day, which is rather lovely, but I think because Jason’s from SNL and Brendan who plays Coach Beard is from Second City, which is in Chicago… and because Brett does stand-up, they write like the framework of the show,’ she explained. ‘And then the amount of times, me with lots of emotional monologues, I will suddenly get completely different words just before the camera’s about to go on me.’

‘I think they like doing it because you get the immediate knee-jerk reaction to something, but my mid-40s brain can’t cope with it at all. I’m one stage away from having idiot boards, because it’s hardcore! They’re just used to that SNL kind of world,’ she added.

Hannah also explained how fans would come up to her on the street and thank her for the ground-breaking show which took home seven Emmys.

‘It’s an absolute privilege to have people come up to you and say, “you’ve made the whole pandemic better.”‘

Jason recently revealed that the show is likely to end after three seasons, however, fans are secretly hoping there’s no truth to it.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, he said: ‘The story that I know is the one that I wanted to tell, and so that’s the one we’re telling with the help of numerous people in front of and behind the camera.’

Ted Lasso is available to watch on Apple TV Plus.
