It may come as little surprise to BTS fans, but singer V has gone and smashed a couple Guinness World Records after launching his own Instagram.
The K-pop wonders recently created solo accounts online after announcing an ‘extended period of rest’, but clearly there is no rest happening on Instagram’s side.
While the group amassed seven world records this year, V has smashed his own with Guinness World Records making the announcement earlier this week.
According to the organisation, Kim Taehyung not only broke the record for the fastest time to reach 1million followers, but also the record for the fastest time to reach 10m followers.
At current count, V has 25.7million followers and has so far shared gorgeous black and white photos, as well as shots of his adorable dog.
He only follows seven other accounts: the official BTS page, as well as his fellow bandmembers.
The quick work of the band’s fanbase last week, Army, saw V jump up to 10 million followers after just four hours 52 minutes, after initially reaching the 1million mark in 43 minutes.
Although V was the one to break the records, all members of the Fake Love group – which also counts RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, and Jungkook as members – now have over 20 million followers each.
The K-Pop heroes have continued to smash records, most recently winning artist of the year at the American Music Awards, and just performed their first in-person concert in two years to a crowd of 70,000 fans.

However, it comes as they take some time out for the first time since 2019.
Their agency said in a statement: ‘Hello. This is BIGHIT MUSIC. We would like to inform you that BTS is planning to take a second official extended period of rest since their first in 2019 after they complete their official scheduled events of BTS Permission To Dance On Stage- LA and the 2021 Jingle Ball Tour.
‘BTS stayed active in order to engage with fans in 2020 and 2021 amidst the Covid-19 situation, and achieved dazzling results to cement themselves as top global artists.’
The statement continued: ‘This period of rest will provide the members of BTS who have tirelessly committed themselves to their activities, a chance to get re-inspired and recharge with creative energy. It will also be the first time for them since their debut to spend the holiday season with their families.
‘We kindly ask once again that you show consideration for their need to enjoy ordinary and free, everyday lives while solely concentrating on themselves, albeit for a short while, during their period of rest.’

It was confirmed BTS will be preparing for an upcoming concert in March ‘to connect and communicate with the fans in-person in Seoul’, as well as the release of a new album that will ‘mark the beginning of a “new chapter”.
BigHit continued: ‘We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all the fans who continue to cheer for BTS and they will return as their best, healthiest selves after recharging so they can return all the love from the fans. Thank you.’
Safe to say, they deserve it.
