“Explosive, Fast, Strong” – Caleb Plant on What He Likes the Most About Gervonta Davis

Gervonta Davis is one prime boxing prodigy who’s rolled out steady statements with his blistering in-ring performances. He is by far the most promising young fighter who exhibits offence and defense, charismatic knockout power, and so much more. As a result, he’s not just loved by the fans but also enormous bigwigs of the sport.

Recently, the ex-IBF super-middleweight king, Caleb Plant, was in interaction with FightHype. Here, he gave an honest notion on ‘Tank’ and his skills.

He’s got good boxing ability. Explosive, fast, strong, everything really so,” he said.

Gervonta Davis, in his last fight, battled Isaac Cruz for his WBA ‘regular’ lightweight title. The knockout artist began the fight with his usual oppressive style, thus gaining an edge over his opponent.

However, in the mid-rounds, ‘Tank’ switched gears, and he only went on a defensive mode. That said, Cruz took advantage of the same and he landed some slick body shots and hooks on Davis. Citing his approach, ‘Tank’ again got back to his aggressive style, and he didn’t let Cruz dictate the pace of the fight from thereon.

A win in this fight was extremely important, as it would have advanced Davis’ chances for an ultimate title shot. As a result, the Maryland native did enough to attain a vital unanimous decision win, to retain his undefeated stint and move ahead in the race for an ultimate title shot.

For now, there’s no clarity on whom will Davis fight next. But, he’s in the abrupt momentum to take on the unified champ, George Kambosos Jr.

Gervonta Davis vs George Kambosos Jr. – Should this fight happen?

Davis already expressed his keenness to take on ‘Ferocious’ in a 12-round classic.

However, the roadway for this fight isn’t that easy. This is because there’s also Vasyl Lomachenko in the picture who’s eagerly waiting to get his hands on the title.

That said, the lightweight division seems to be in a mess for now. And the coming few months will actually determine who gets to fight Kambosos Jr.
