Hollywood Actor O’Shea Jackson: “If You Are a Young Athlete You Basically Wanna Follow the Model Kevin Durant”

A rapper and actor, O’Shea Jackson Jr. is from the United States. If you follow his work, you’ll notice his passion for basketball. His new series “Swagger” debuted on Apple TV and explores the truth behind the success of our favorite players. Each episode focuses on the life of a young basketball player in the process of becoming successful. In the series, OMG plays the role of a former basketball player who is now a coach.

OMG explained how Kevin Durant’s life is the inspiration for his series during an appearance on Ellen.

Kevin Durant is the inspiration for the “swagger”

Durant is a part of a cast that boasts of numerous celebrities, including Isaiah Hill, Shinelle Azoroh, Academy Award-nominee Quvenzhané Wallis, Caleel Harris, James Bingham, Solomon Irama, Ozie Nzeribe, Tessa Ferrer, Tristan Mack Wilds, and Jason Rivera.

While discussing his series, he also discussed his 4-year-old daughter, Jordan, and his idol, Kobe Bryant. In response to a question about his series being inspired by Durant, he describes the instance when he got the inspiration for that particular work of art. According to him:

Yeah, Kevin Durant, I mean, if you are a young athlete you basically wanna follow the model Kevin Durant. You know he has never been in any type of trouble always stays true to the game, should have been a Laker but that’s a different discussion. You know KD that’s our guy!

As part of their conversation, OMG mentioned that the series started filming the day after Kobe Bryant died. In the aftermath of his death, he had a hard time dealing with the tragedy as Kobe was his idol to look up to. During the Ellen show, he described his first encounter with Kobe. It was a tough job for him to go to work knowing that his hero is no longer with us.

It all started when he told a funny story about a drunken text he sent on Twitter that led to a great conversation with the legend.

This series is dedicated to all these legendary stars who are successful now but had to endure much to achieve their success. They begin with the challenges they faced and how they overcame them.
