Home Alone star Devin Ratray has been accused of trying to strangle his girlfriend in a row.

The 44-year-old, who played Buzz McCallister in the first two films of the Christmas film franchise, allegedly got into a bad fight with his partner while in a hotel, with police reportedly called to the scene.

The couple were staying in Oklahoma City when things are thought to have become tense.

According to TMZ, law enforcement officials were called to the hotel for a domestic dispute, with things being ‘sorted out’ when the pair decided to go their separate ways.

It has been claimed that Ratray’s girlfriend, who has not been named, made a police report the following day, alleging that he got physical with her during the argument.

In the documents, obtained by the publication, she accused him of strangling her and putting his hand over her mouth, before punching her in the face.

She allegedly bit him, as per TMZ, and escaped to a stairwell while waiting for police to arrive.

A police spokesperson told Metro.co.uk that a police report has been filed, and that an investigation is being conducted.

The actor’s reps told the site that they got into a verbal argument but that it did not get physical.

They did not share what their fight was about, but added that the two have since called time on their relationship.

Ratray shot to worldwide fame thanks to his role as Kevin McCallister’s brother Buzz in Home Alone, in 1990.

He reprised his role in the 1992 sequel, Lost in New York, as well as the recent Disney+ reboot, Home Sweet Home Alone.

The star recently suggested that there could be a reunion on the cards, with some of the original cast joining in – but it is not clear whether this will be impacted by the new reports.

Speaking to People Magazine on the plans, he said: ‘They have been planning a reunion online and I just recently, as in a couple of days ago, got on their messenger chat thread, and I have been trying to keep up with Jed Cohen and Diana [Rein] and Terrie [Snell] and Angela Goethals and Hillary Wolf.

‘The family is moving on their own accord to get together.

‘So who knows what’s going to happen in the future?’

Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for Devin for a comment.
