Stephen Curry on Joel Embiid’s 3-Point Record Dig: ‘Teams Are Coming Out Trying to Make Sure It Doesn’t Happen on Them’

Stephen Curry often provides the impression that his shooting ability is otherworldly. NBA fans generally refer to Curry in debates surrounding the greatest shooter of all-time titles. Over the years, the Golden State Warriors star has tormented NBA defenses with his shooting abilities. It is no surprise that rival defenses try to aggressively defend him. Recently, Curry commented on his one of rivals’ tactics.

Stephen Curry On 3-Pointer Record

Curry was speaking to the media in a post-game conference following his game against the Philadelphia 76ers. Then, a reporter question Curry if rival teams were applying defensive play styles against him to successfully neutralize him. He commented on how teams guarded him in order to foil Curry’s attempts to break the three-point record against them.

“I saw Joel, what he said postgame… I know teams are coming out trying to make sure it doesn’t happen on them.”

Curry said, “Yeah, I mean you get a little bit of everything. I saw Joel, what he said post-game; said what everyone’s saying. I know teams are coming out trying to make sure it doesn’t happen on them. Especially if it’s making 10 or 16 or seven or whatever it is. But, again I’m just enjoying doing the moment. In terms of the chase to get over the mountaintop and after that, I’ll just see how far I can go.”

Currently, Curry is on the way to all-time great status with trying to break the NBA’s all-time three-pointers record. Curry ranks second on the all-time list with 2,972 three-pointers made. He remains short of just one three-pointer to equal Ray Allen’s record and two three-pointers to surpass the record.

Starting his NBA career in 2009, Curry has won three NBA titles with the Warriors.

Stephen Curry comes within touching distance of 3-pointer record in the victory against Indiana Pacers

Stephen Curry led the Golden State Warriors to victory against the Indiana Pacers at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The Warriors held onto a close-fought win with a final score of 102-100 against the Pacers. The Warriors are currently 22-5 for the season and rank first in the Western Conference standings.

Against the Pacers, Curry remained just one three-pointer away from the all-time record. The Warriors talisman made five three-pointers and scored 26 points. Domantas Sabonis scored 30 points to lead the Pacers. The Warriors face the New York Knicks next, with Curry being afforded the chance to surpass and break the all-time record at Madison Square Garden.
