MCDONALD’S fans can get a free bag of carrots on Christmas Eve for the kids to leave out as “Reindeer Treats” for Santa.

The fast food chain is giving out the free veggies on December 24 to customers – and you don’t even need to buy anything to get them.

McDonald’s has previously given out the freebies over the Christmas period, and this year is no exception – but they are only available while stock lasts.

Bags of carrot sticks are usually 99p – which means you’ll be saving yourself just under a quid to keep Rudolph and his pals happy.

All you need to do is turn up to your local McDonald’s branch on Christmas Eve to get your free treats – you don’t need to buy anything either.

However, you might want to head to your nearest restaurant sooner rather than later before bags run out.

You can use McDonald’s store locator tool to see where your nearest branch is.

The freebie is part of McDonald’s #ReindeerReady campaign, where families can download free activities on the chain’s website.

Also on the website is a free storybook narrated by Ronan Keating which follows on McDonald’s Christmas advert for this year.

The chain’s advert features a little girl who creates an imaginary friend called Iggy and they bond over Christmas activities.

McDonald’s isn’t the only one dishing out festive freebies.

Greggs is handing out a limited supply of 50,000 Festive Bakes for free over the holidays – but you have to be a new app user to get one.

Morrisons cafe is offering kids free Christmas dinners as long as an adult buys a meal which costs more than £4.50.

While Sky is offering  five freebies this Christmas to customers if they pay for broadband, TV, talk or mobile services.
