‘The UFC Don’t Wanna Pay for U’- Nate Diaz Closes the Door on a Fight Against Dustin Poirier

The MMA community has been witnessing a possible clash between Nate Diaz and Dustin Poirier materialize before their very eyes. Both star fighters have been actively calling each other out on social media and are talking about potential dates to fight. As of last night, UFC 270 in January 2022 was a frontrunner to possibly host this welterweight clash.

However, things seemed to have fallen apart about a day later and now the fight may not come to fruition.

Nate Diaz once again took to Twitter and initially showed some interest in getting on the January pay-per-view card. Simultaneously, he also talked about how he would only fight Conor McGregor once he has racked up some major wins. Dustin Poirier came out and responded to Diaz’s tweet and said that UFC 271 the following month worked better for him.

But in a follow-up tweet, Nate Diaz said that the UFC wouldn’t pay him enough to fight Poirier, thus causing him to lose interest in the fight. Poirier seemed rather unbothered by the fact that Diaz decided to move on from their negotiation.

All good Nathaniel

As it stands, there’s no concrete evidence surrounding the status of the fight and fans await more updates with bated breath. Chiefly, this would be the second time the fight fell through after initially being canceled at UFC 230.

Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal exchange blows

Nate Diaz has also been busy flaming an old rivalry with Jorge Masvidal along with his fight negotiation talks with Poirier on Twitter. He trolled Masvidal for the knockout loss he suffered earlier this year when he faced Kamaru Usman.

As expected, Masvidal came back with a verbal jab that was a direct attack on Stockton’s second son. He talked about how Diaz has shown a susceptibility for leg kicks and was thoroughly unimpressed with his overall body of works.

Just came across this and it’s so ironic that the individual who can’t block low kicks high kicks or mid kicks is talking shit about fighters getting better #canyouevenspelldoubleleg https://t.co/mehL5sJPwg

Even at that very moment I’m still more coherent than your stupid ass

It’s clear that Nate Diaz is looking for a massive fight in his next contest that could also be his last in the UFC. He has one fight left on his existing contract and wants to go out with a bang.
