Sick sites where MILLIONS of unsuspecting women ‘deepfaked into porn’ exposed

MILLIONS of women have been the targets of deepfake revenge porn, according to concerned experts.

A report by the Japan Times claims deepfake AI is entering a “perilous phase” and several experts confirmed these concerns.

A research called Ajder who worked on a deepfake report for Sensity told the Japan Times: “The vast, vast majority of harm caused by deepfakes right now is a form of gendered digital violence.”

They added that they worked on a study which indicated millions of women had been targeted by deepfake porn.

The researchers also estimate the number of deepfake videos online is doubling around every six months.

Deepfake AI technology has only been around for about four years and yet there’s already numerous apps and website that make the technology easy to use and accessible to almost anyone.

Experts are concerned it’s now so advanced that it’s hard to distinguish between what’s a fake video and what is real.

One of the apps pointed out by the Japan Times promised users it could “Make deepfake porn in a sec” in a concerning advert that has since been removed.

However, the app is not said to mention possible pornographic usage in its App Store or Google Play Store description.

This means it can bypass being removed from those platforms despite concerns it could be used to cause harm.

Many US states have laws against revenge porn as does the UK.

The devastating impact revenge porn can have on victims is well known.

However, the US and UK revenge porn laws do not currently cover deepfakes.

Reface, one of the world’s most popular face swapping app, now uses filters and human control to moderate content and prevent missuse.

There have been calls for much more regulation of other deepfake apps and websites.
