WWE Raw results, grades: Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens destroy Big E and Bobby Lashley

WWE superstars Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens look to finally be on the same page after an explosive end to this week’s Raw.

On Monday night, the two villains – who haven’t exactly seen eye to eye recently – teamed up to battle Bobby Lashley and Big E in the main event, just under two weeks before all four men clash for the latter’s WWE Championship at Day 1.

The show kicked off with that match in mind, with the All Mighty and MVP making their way to the ring before the former highlighted his own power as he earned his way into the blockbuster title bout.

Big E came out and congratulated Lashley on getting himself into the match, but criticised him for using MVP to help him to victory when he’s more than capable of winning on his own.

Bobby insisted his Hurt Business partner did that on his own, and even suggested MVP should fight the WWE Champion as he got out of the ring to let it unfold.

He got jumped by Owens and Rollins, with E making the save and setting up this week’s main event as the ever-changing relationships between everyone involved making for a genuinely fun storyline.

Yes, the match itself obviously leaned on the ‘can they co-exist?’ trope, which WWE has even been mocking itself on social media, so at least they’re aware on some level.

It worked well here, and with the talent involved this was never going to be anything less than a fantastic bout, even if the finish looked like there were some timing issues.

The ending came as Lashley accidentally hit Big E with a Spear before delivering a second to KO and getting the win for his team, but he got took out with a Stomp by the Visionary as Seth and KO jumped on the attack and stood tall.

Omos turns on AJ Styles, Bianca Belair lifts Doudrop and Vince McMahon loves firing people

The first match of the night saw Doudrop and Bianca Belair go head to head for the third time as they put on a great show with a couple of missteps.

The ending was perfect though, with the EST of WWE avoiding a Vaderbomb and hoisting up her rival for the K.O.D. as the crowd got to its feet.

Finn Balor beat Austin Theory in a fantastic match showing that the latter is more than a comedy character, while he continues to be heavily linked to Vince McMahon on screen.

Later, the boss was unimpressed with Theory’s loss and threatened to sack him – while admitting he loves to fire people, ‘especially before the holidays’ – before giving him another chance to beat Balor next week.

Obviously those comments will split fans given the amount of releases we’ve seen since April 2020, and there’s no way it wasn’t said without expecting the backlash.

Elsewhere, The Miz begged his wife Maryse to not speak to Edge about their relationship on his talk show later on, before welcoming AJ Styles and Omos to Miz TV.

They discussed their issues as the A-lister tried to stir the pot, but before things could get too heated, Rey and Dominik Mysterio came out for their scheduled bout.

The match itself was more about the overall story than the in-ring action, with some miscommunication leading to a roll-up from Rey to secure the win.

After the bell, Omos and AJ fought before the giant dropped the Phenomenal One, and it looks like WWE are ready to let him go solo.

Randy Orton beat Chad Gable in a brilliant albeit brief match, but he wasn’t able to hit an RKO on Otis after the bell.

Damian Priest faced Dolph Ziggler in non-title action this week, and the pair had a very strong bout which was let down by the ending.

The United States Champion targeted Robert Roode on the outside after he got involved in the match, which led to a count out loss for the Archer of Infamy.

It was time for the Cutting Edge, with the host joined by Maryse who lulled him into a false sense of security as she played up her apparent relationship issues with Miz, but it was all a ruse.

He tried to attack Edge from behind, and his wife attacked the Rated R Superstar with her purse, leaving him open to a Skull Crushing Finale.

In a rematch from last week, Rhea Ripley got revenge on Zelina Vega – with both Nikki A.S.H. and Carmella banned from ringside – and beat her, while suggesting she’s better without her masked partner.

Liv Morgan – with a kendo stick in hand after she confronted Becky Lynch during training over the weekend – met her rival in the ring as they traded verbal jabs and the challenger threatened to break the Raw Women’s Champion’s face.

She threw the weapon down to Lynch, but Big Time Becks left the ring.
