Home Alone’s Kristin Minter is unrecognisable 31 years after playing Kevin’s oldest cousin in Christmas classic

HOME Alone star Kristin Minter looks unrecognisable 31 years on from starring in the much-loved Christmas flick.

The actress played Kevin’s eldest cousin Heather McCallister, who mistook the nextdoor neighbour’s kid for Kevin during a head count as they prepared to leave for their festive family breakaway.

Fans of the flick will remember Heather counting all the McCallister children outside their rented minivans while mean-spirited Buzz tried to disrupt her count by shouting random numbers.

Now 31 years on, Kristin, who was 25 at the time of filming the iconic movie, is still acting with previous roles in This Is Us and Ray Donovan.

The 56-year-old will next star in comedy series Steffy & Roxy as well as a yet-to-be-released thriller titled 7th Secret opposite Stacey Dash

In 2018, Kristin reflected on her time shooting Home Alone and admitted she grew close to Macaulay Culkin as well as his younger brothers Rory and Kieran.

Speaking to Trainwreck’d Society, she said: “The set was great, the kids were great.

“We watched movies in my room. [Macaulay] and Kieran [Culkin] were sweet normal kids working on a movie.

“[Rory Culkin] was teeny tiny and their mom was lovely,” she added.

“When I wrapped, everyone came to my room — including the Culkins — to say goodbye.”

Kristin also had nothing but praise for Macaulay, who was a mere 10-year-olds when he undertook the role of Kevin in the film series.

Speaking to Vice in 2017, she said: “Imagine the pressure Macaulay had as a ten-year-old — he’s the whole movie.

“He talks to himself in half of it. I can understand why he stepped away from the spotlight. I think that he was under a tremendous amount of pressure.”

After her stint in Home Alone, Kristin most notably joined medical drama ER in 1995 playing desk clerk Miranda ‘Randi’ Fronczak.

She was originally hired to appear in just three episode of the series but ended up starring in a total of 71 episode and stayed on the show until 2003.

Despite being part of one of TV’s biggest shows, Kristin said it wasn’t all fun and games on set.

She told Geek Chic Elite: “On the set, it was so incredibly stressful and out of the stress I would do these really funny things, so in that particular environment being stressed out was part of my character.

“There were times where I would literally sit in my dressing room and cry, hoping not to screw up.”
