Sea of Thieves Celebrates Massive Sales Milestone With a Free Emote for All Its Players

Popular online multiplayer Sea of Thieves just achieved a massive sales milestone. The celebrations are done in style, revealing a great surprise for its fans. The game just went past the mark of 5 million sales on Steam, since its debut on the store. Indeed, it is a remarkable feat, and that’s why its developer, Rare, has decided to offer something to the players of Sea of Thieves.

To celebrate five million sales on Steam, Sea of Thieves has offered free emotes to the players. Developer Rare announced recently that the first-person action-adventure went past the mark on the Steam platform. Rare then also shared the big news on the official Twitter account of Sea of Thieves.

We’re celebrating more than five million scoundrels splashing out for Sea of Thieves on Steam! To mark this milestone, anyone who plays SoT between Dec 22nd 2pm and Dec 29th 11:59pm GMT gets the All Together Now! Emote for free. Cheers!

Players get new surprises as Sea of Thieves goes past 5 million Steam sales

Speaking of the new announcement, then anyone who plays the multiplayer between December 22 and December 29, 2021, will receive free emotes. It implies that Sea of Thieves fans have a full week to enjoy all the fresh emotes offered in the game. In case you all missed it, the title also saw a record amount of 25 million players on all the platforms, throughout 2021. After accomplishing this, the developers awarded the pirates free Gold, as their gesture of thanking them for supporting the game.

Talking about the game itself, it was initially launched more than three years ago. In this game, players become pirates while exploring the area of an open-world map, through a pirate ship. As per the makers, SOT is a “shared-world adventure game”, which means that multiple groups keep encountering each other during their regular adventures, on daily basis.

The basic crux of the game is that a player takes on the role of a pirate and finishes voyages from different trading companies. This is important to do in order to become the ultimate Pirate Legend. And to achieve this rank, players need to reach at least level 50 with three of the trading companies.

Sea of Thieves arrived on Valve’s Steam service in June, last year. Previously, it was an Xbox and PC exclusively. The game was also one of the first exclusives to release on the Xbox Game Pass, the very popular subscription-based gaming service of Xbox.
