‘You Can’t Achieve Greatness’- Jon Jones Lashes Out at UFC Star Dan Hooker

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones went off on lightweight star Dan Hooker for his comments recently. Chiefly, ‘The Hangman’ called out Jon Jones for his controversial run-in with the law in Las Vegas while he was defending Chael Sonnen.

Sonnen also got into hot water in Vegas recently, however, it was revealed that his detention was because he was defending his wife.

Imagine beating up 5 people and not one of them is your wife. (JJones RN ) https://t.co/Jzw6oVC640

Jones didn’t appreciate Dan Hooker’s abrasive comments, and he went on to slam Hooker’s run in the UFC. ‘Bones’ talked about how Dan Hooker hadn’t been able to capitalize on his stint in the division and also dissed Israel Adesanya. Jones most certainly doesn’t have any love for the crew over at City Kickboxing, following Hooker’s latest comments.

@danthehangman, every opportunity you’ve had to make a name for yourself and be closer to your boy Izzy, you dropped the ball. You can’t achieve greatness, so you hop online and attack someone who has. Sounds about right

However, in classic Dan Hooker fashion, the ‘Hangman’ decided to strike back at Jones and doubled down on his insults. It’s clear as day that Hooker didn’t appreciate Jones bringing up Chael Sonnen’s Las Vegas detention in light of what happened to him following his induction ceremony in 2021.

Life hack: if you don’t beat up your wife, family events will be more enjoyable. Merry Xmas bitch. https://t.co/tc1uQNm8ov

I was triggered by your disingenuous attempt to bring attention to Chael’s situation. He was arrested for defending his wife, you were arrested for assaulting yours. &

Jon Jones: Will we see the light heavyweight GOAT move to heavyweight in 2022?

One of the biggest questions surrounding Jon Jones at the moment is his possible move to the heavyweight division. Jones hasn’t competed since February 2022 and within that span of time, he relinquished his 205-pound belt. Jones has now decided that a stint at heavyweight is what is needed to boost his career in the right direction.

It is widely believed that Jon Jones will face the winner of UFC 270’s heavyweight title fight between Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane. Jones’ legacy as the light heavyweight kingpin has afforded him the opportunity to fight for the heavyweight strap. However, there’s no concrete timeline slated for Jon Jones’ return to the UFC.

Apart from the championship match-up, there are other compelling fights laid out for Jon Jones in 2022. He could also face off against established heavyweight fighters like Stipe Miocic and Derrick Lewis. Fans are interested to see how a 240-pound version of Jones competes under the bright lights against the very best.
